Dermot Connolly

Dermot loves all things Irish, especially Irish Heritage, Culture, and Farming.

He is married to Katja who shares her love of animals with their three children, Grellan, Fíadh, and Ailbhe. Their family-run farm is just a few miles outside Ballinasloe in the townland of Glennavaddogue (Glenn na bhfeadóg).

They farm other native breeds such as Irish Moiled Cattle, Connemara Ponies, Irish Draught Horses and share their home with Eoinín their Irish Red and White Setter. Along with a beautiful herd of Galway Sheep they also have Maine Mór, their Registered Irish Draught Stallion. Dermot is dedicated to his community and neighbours, he is a very popular local Public Representative for Sinn Fein.

In 2021 he was elected as Cathaoirleach (Chairman) of Ballinasloe Municipal District Council.

When he finds spare time he is also a referee for Camogie, Hurling, and Gaelic Football.
