Blatnaid & Niall Gallagher run an Organic & Social Farm in East Galway near the Historical Village of Aughrim.
They are passionate about Irish Heritage; running a pedigree flock of Galways along with some breeding Connemara Ponies and Erdem Geese.

In 2021, they were selected by the Irish National Parks and Wildlife Service to develop parts of their farm for re-wilding; providing a rich source of biodiversity for Irish Wildlife, Flora, and Fauna. The discovery on their farm of the rare Marsh Fritillary, means they will also be working with NPWS to provide a protected butterfly sanctuary for the preservation and protection of this species.
In 2020 Blátnaid completed her MSc (Hons) Ag Innovate at NUIG, part of her research into the Irish Wool Sector was the foundation stone on which The Galway Wool Co-op was formed.
She is passionate about the opportunities for Irish Grown wool and its potential as a natural bio-fiber in our larger circular and bio economies.
